“We are two artists from different backgrounds and disciplines exploring the idea of sacred ground. In a physical reflection of an internal construct, this interactive performance/installation merges several cultural and spiritual traditions.

The rug as a significant aspect of Persian culture with its multitude of interwoven designs and rich colors invite you to experience the beauty and mystery of Persian artistry. Here the projected patterns illuminate an underlying mystical heritage that is timeless… Transforming the physical space into an ethereal garden.

While the rug emerges as a tangible element that transcends into light, the wrapped rings begin as individual and collective meditations, which transform into art objects. They are remnants of intention and mind finding their place within the supportive structure and refuge of the tree.

The orchestrated sounds and actions merge with ambient noise and further connect the individual elements in a collective resonance.

This gathering space is our common ground.”
